3.7.3.6 Red translucent. Red translucent color shall fall within the area bounded by the spectrum locus and
y = 0.335, x = 0.985-y, as shown on figure 8. Red material shall have a light transmission value that essentially
3.7.3.7 Clear (colorless) transparent. The light transmitted by clear transparent ware shall not be noticeably
different in chromaticity from that of the illuminant. Luminous transmittance shall be not less than the value
specified in the applicable specification sheet. Clear transparent ware shall transmit all light between wave length
420 nanometers (nm) (violet) and 680 nm (red). Selective absorption at any wave length shall not exceed 5 percent
of the entire energy at that wave length of the light source. Total absorption shall not exceed 18 percent.
3.7.4 Chromaticity for type III luminaires. Chromaticity is defined by (x) (y) coordinates on the CIE 1931
international chromaticity diagram. Areas within the curve for specified colors of light are defined in 3.7.4.1
through 3.7.4.5 using four reference points and the spectrum locus to create a boundary (see figure 8 and 4.8.6.5).
3.7.4.1 White light. Chromaticity shall fall within the area bounded by the following four locations:
x = 0.3679
x = 0.3853
y = 0.3873
y = 0.3686
x = 0.3953
x = 0.3622
y = 0.4009
y = 0.3546
3.7.4.1.1 Correlated color temperature (CCT). The CCT for white light shall have a nominal value of 4,100 K
with a tolerance of ±297 K per the Flexible CCT formula listed in ANSI ANSLG C78.377. CCT is specified for
only white light applications (see 4.8.6.6).
3.7.4.1.2 Color rendering index (CRI). The minimum CRI for white light shall be 75 (see 4.8.6.7).
3.7.4.2 Red light. Chromaticity shall be within the area bounded by the spectrum locus and the following:
x = 0.6482
x = 0.7255
y = 0.3350
y = 0.2595
x = 0.6658
x = 0.7347
y = 0.3350
y = 0.2655
3.7.4.3 Amber (yellow) light. Chromaticity shall be within the area bounded by the spectrum locus and the
following:
x = 0.5510
x = 0.6171
y = 0.4143
y = 0.3820
x = 0.5548
x = 0.6080
y = 0.4544
y = 0.3820
3.7.4.4 Blue light. Chromaticity shall be within the area bounded by the spectrum locus and the following:
x = 0.0593
x = 0.2369
y = 0.2300
y = 0.1631
x = 0.1701
x = 0.1483
y = 0.2300
y = 0.0256
